Teaching Assignments: Courses that have been taught at Cascade School District in the last few years include but are not limited to: Introduction to Agriculture, Personal Skill Development, Introduction to Agricultural Mechanics, Agricultural Welding, Small Gas Engines, Animal Science, Plant Science, and Natural Resources.
Additional Duties: FFA Advisor, 10 day extended summer contract
Additional School Information: The community of Cascade is a tight-knit, family centered community that embraces the Cascade School District and the Ag Ed program. The community of Cascade is home to the Valley County seat, a Forest Service station, and a State Parks Office, and is near a nearly operating gold mine led by Perpetua Resources. Large partners for our program include U of I extension, 4H, Granite Excavation, Perpetua Resources, and more. Cascade School District is a small, rural school district that serves all grades PreK-12 in one building and is about to start year 4 of Ag Ed programming. The start of the program was a result of our community showing a desire for this field of education, a PreK-12 setting allows for some really interesting and unique partnering will all ages that you will not find in larger school districts. When initially surveyed, the community was highly in favor of the following programs because of the natural fit of the industries and opportunities in the area: Agricultural Welding, Agricultural Mechanics & Powersports, and Small Gas Engines. Over time, we have been able to implement the introductory and Intermediate level course for each of these CTE pathways - we would like to continue the journey of these pathways but are open to other Ag related ideas as well. The Ag Ed program at Cascade School District consists of a classroom, a separate shop with welding equipment and small gas engine kits, and a set of propane heated greenhouses. The FFA program at Cascade Schools is an important part of our district, the leadership in the FFA program are given many opportunities for leadership through attending State and National Leadership conventions. We are proud of our FFA program and would love to see it continue to grow and thrive not only in our school but in the community of Cascade.

Homedale High School
Job Title:
Ag Teacher
Teaching Assignments: The current teaching assignment is strong Ag Mechanics however some adjustments can be made to reflect the candidates strengths. Courses that the position is teaching are Intro to Ag, Intro to Ag Mechanics, Beginning and Advanced Welding and Ag Leadership.
Additional Duties: The program is a 2 teacher program. This position comes with a 40 day extended contract. Alot of time is spent checking SAEs, attendeding the local county fairs, training and traveling with FFA members, and attending professional development opportunities.
Additional School Information: Our facilities include a large woodshop and metal shop equipped with newer equipment and a newer Arclight plasma table. We have 2 classrooms and a greenhouse. We are a smaller school and our best students do everything. We provide many opportunities for our students to make them well rounded. Potlatch Jr. Sr. High School
Job Title: Agricultural Educator
Teaching Assignments: Heavily shop focused. One welding course, one mechanics course, one woodshop course, and flexibility in between for middle school leadership, animal science, natural resources, and floral design. Greenhouse class in the spring with support from a community member. Administration is supportive of seeking opportunities to grow and are hoping for someone either competent in mechanics and natural resources, or someone willing to learn.
Additional Duties: 40 day extended contract, FFA stipend, SAE visits and involvement with the Latah Market Animal Sale. We have a current North Idaho District officer (sentinel).
Additional School Information: Our facilities are currently being updated. We received a million dollar grant to update both the metal and wood shop in addition to adding a second classroom extension. Five new Miller syncrowave welders and five new millermatic welders. Brand new ironworker, bandsaw, drill press. CNC Arclight. Woodmizer sawmill. Sawstop table saw. Glo Forage Premium. We have an active alumni chapter with an annual banquet. They are very excited about the things taking place in FFA and are hopeful of keeping the momentum going. The community is highly supportive of the agriculture program. We recently received four full oxy setups from Idaho Forest Group. Bennett Lumber is also eager to support by donating lumber and other supplies to both ends of the shop. They built a tool cage to ensure security within the shop and we have spent the last year filling it with high quality tools of every variety. Eight Kohler small engines are also in use with the agricultural mechanics class as well as tool boxes that accompany each of them. Administration has made CTE one of their top priorities and is highly supportive of the program. Letter of application, resumé, three (3) letters of recommendation, college transcripts and completed district application form must be submitted.
